Opening Keynote: Agentic AI is the Next Frontier in AI
Thursday September 18, 2025 9:30am - 10:15am PDT
Agentic AI is the next frontier in AI. It's chained together AIs (chaining AI to AI or using software between AIs or a combo of both) that enable autonomous actions. Rather than the current norm of Prompt -> Response it allows for complex chained actions. For example, an agentic AI resume reviewer. One collects resumes, another reviews them, a third may then create an action plan for the hiring manager - if plan is approved, then the agentic AI sends thank you responses to rejected candidates and drafts and sends emails to interview candidates and then schedules the interviews.

Worst Case Scenario: Threat Defense Is Not The Place For Optimism
Thursday September 18, 2025 10:20am - 11:00am PDT
Most security programs today use threat profiling and risk prediction exercises in an attempt to assess the probability and likelihood of a threat impacting the company. However, many programs fail to consider the threat actors’ willingness to take enormous risks for huge gains, and fall victim repeatedly due to a lack of strategic foresight. In this presentation, I argue that we must approach risk and threat defense with the most severe degree of pessimism, imagining the worst-case scenario as plausible. This presentation dives into real-world examples of devastating cyber and physical attacks that few thought could happen. Then we explore the tradecraft behind predicting these “high-impact, low probability” scenarios and how to best prepare and defend against them
